Important DI preparation tips for SBI PO

Data interpretation (DI) is one of the most common yet important topics which you face in every competitive exam and No wonder Its the Important part in SBI PO exams.  It plays a significant role in SBI PO mains exam and this year you will get 35 questions of Data interpretation and analysis consisting of 60 marks. The Data Interpretation section of SBI PO exam tests your decision-making ability and speed using limited input. 1. Interpret the data, don’t just start calculations: Before you start doing calculation, make sure you read the data properly. First understand the data properly by reading the questions and then go for the calculation. Incorrect assumption of data will make every answer wrong which will eventually lead to negative mark.

2. Work on your Calculation Skills/Speed: To prepare well for DI questions, you must first improve your calculation speed. SO learn some vedic math shortcut tricks. It helps in reducing the time required for solving the questions. It is imperative, therefore to get very, very comfortable with calculations. Dont rely much on short cut tricks either. Practice is the key. First practice few sets and make your own shortcut tricks.

3.Read the Question Carefully: It is very important that you read the data carefully. Generally, each set of data interpretation question contains some easy questions, some medium difficulty level questions and few difficult questions.. So, there will be at least of couple of easy questions in each set which can be mark fetching. You should practice identifying the level of difficulty of questions so you know immediately which ones to attempt and which to avoid. This is your first step to tackle DI to crack SBI PO Exam.

4.Get acquainted with all types of DI questions: While practicing DI questions, you’ll begin to notice that there are different types or formats of questions in this section. There will be bar charts, tables, pie charts etc. Make sure to practice every type of DI questions, This is the ultimate way to prepare for Data interpretation and analysis.

5. Say no to the calculator: Since you can’t use a calculator ,then why to use during practice. stop using calculator and calculate using pen and paper, this well improve your calculation speed and also it will make it easy for you to memorise tricks and shortcut formulae.

6. Practice ,practice and only practice: : The more you practice, more your speed will improve. Instead of wasting your time on finding short cut tricks and methods, first clear your basics. Practice bunches of DI questions everyday.later you can go for shortcut methods to improve your speed . With practice you confidence will build up gradually and it will surely impact on your performance.
